A Long Year in Review

Hey Ya'll!

So I was at my friend Becca's house yesterday doing some crafts, and she asked me if I had a blog. My initial thought was 'Pssht...no. Those are really hard and tedious and I'm going to have to tell her no and then I won't be able to share cool blogging stories with her and we will have to change the topic to something else which will make me feel bad because she seems really excited to talk about blogs and now I look like a big lamo with no family journaling outlet with which to share with my prosperity like all the other moms.  I'll just tell her no and hopefully she will talk about her blog anyway and I can commit to starting my own blog so that the next time I come to her house we can talk about our blogs and I'll be in the know and our bond with grow stronger!'  And then I remembered and replied,"Yes I do." I then told her that despite my blog's clever title that hints at my ongoing experiences as a Georgian living in the heart of Texas, I had not updated it in a really.long.long.long.time. She then assured me there was hope for me yet. All I had to do to get back in the game was to do a year (in my case a year and a half) in review with a couple of pictures that I took along the way. So...with all that said and a big thanks to Becca for getting me back in the proverbial saddle that looks and feels a lot like an office chair, here are a few things that have been going on this past year...

Number 1: I had a baby. He's really cute. I will not go into details about labor and delivery. It wasn't too hard, but  probably too gross so...you're welcome.

Halloween 2013

His first name is William, but since literally every male in my family's name is William on both sides, we call him Rhett. Though you're probably annoyed that we call him by his middle name, the truth is, we were just not creative enough to think of a middle name that goes well with Rhett. We love our William men (even my little brother, Will) so we wanted to let him feel like he was one of them whilst calling him something completely different. Sorry, Rhett. You will always have trouble in school with teachers calling out the wrong name, and you may lose 30%  of your score for getting your name wrong on your standardized tests, but we love you!! Good luck, son!  Also, Becca told me to just pick 5 photos to update everyone, but my baby is so cute I couldn't limit it to just 5. I'll do better next time...maybe...

Number 2: Jesse finished his first year of internship and is now working on his second. The first year was really hard and we hardly saw him, but this year seems to be easier, and Rhett can now recognize him when he walks in the door.

My Hubby hard at work. Is he just pretending to be on the phone to look important? You'll never know...

Number 3: We went to California in October with Rhett. It was so fun! We went to the zoo, visited some friends and family, saw a UCLA game, went on lots of dates without Rhett, etc. It was awesome! Thanks Coco and Lowell for babysitting while Jesse and I live it up at Hotel California!

Cousin Max and Rhett

Number 4: Not only was Rhett born, but he turned ONE!!  And since I've already maxxed out my picture limit for this one blog post, I will save his birthday with it's massive amounts of photos for another day and another post.

Til next time...(and by next time, I mean maybe next week, not next year. I promise)
